    In 2011, over 120 supplier audits took place and this process continues to be reviewed and enhanced in 2012. As a result, we have insisted on improvement plans and, where appropriate, we have exited from relationships with a number of suppliers who were not able to meet our strict responsible business requirements.

    Extensive supplier auditing

We operate a supplier evaluation process and as part of this, suppliers are subject to rigorous and ongoing audits by our procurement teams, including a substantial team based in China.

This process follows a risk based methodology for assessment and audit against our global responsible business measures.

In addition, IMI’s risk control team conduct regular supplier visits and provide training to our procurement personnel worldwide.
