Engine manufacturer satisfies emissions legislation with the help of Norgren’s proportional valve

Requirement: In response to the global movement to reduce the amount of noxious emissions from trucks, Ashok Leyland are designing and manufacturing engines that are cleaner and meet the demanding requirements of emissions legislation.

Solution: Norgren has worked with the world’s leading engine manufacturers for many years in the field of emissions control so were ideally placed to co-operate with Ashok Leyland. Norgren designed a proportional valve that controls engine’s exhaust gas recirculation valve, which in turn re-circulates exhaust gas back into the engine. This helps cool the combustion process and prevents the formation of nitrogen related gases. Norgren’s solution was also resistant to both shock and vibration caused by the engine and road surfaces and it delivers reliable performance time and time again.
