Our Fluid Power business is ideally placed to respond to the key macro trends that are shaping our future. These growth drivers include environmental and demographic trends that underpin our 5 key focus markets:

• Commercial vehicles, focusing on the greener future – reducing emissions controls and optimising fuel economy
• Life sciences, focusing on aging population, in particular quality and longevity of lifestyle
• Energy, focusing on climate change and low carbon cleaner energy
• Food and beverage, focusing on lifestyle and diet as a result of consumer trends and globalisation of brands
• Rail, focusing on urbanisation, in particular the increasing demand for mass transit infrastructure

Within these sectors, our focus is towards global key accounts where there is a demand for engineering advantage solutions and where the complexity of the solution is much higher.

We engineer advantage for our customers by solving their problems and enabling them to operate faster, more efficiently and more cost effectively.

Ever more stringent legislation has challenged our customers to solve a variety of problems and we can help with these issues as we are committed to pioneering solutions which enable our customers to meet their aims.

Our customers in the commercial vehicle sector align with ‘proven on -engine technology’ providers that can demonstrate compliance to legislative standards. Consequently, we have significant relationships of over 20 years with most of the leading OEMs, making us their partner of choice.

In the life sciences sector, our knowledge of applications, integrated solutions and reliability of the solution ensure we are technology leaders and a trusted partner.

As we focus towards the emerging markets, we see a similar trend in compliance to strict standards and we are well placed with our Asian Technology Centre to support our customers with these requirements.

We have a wealth of understanding and technical expertise in many different industry sectors and years of industry insights are also used effectively to influence the design and development of complete solutions.

The Norgren University runs internal master classes focusing on the following areas to ensure we are able to diagnose the best solution for our customers:

• capability and technology
• application portfolio
• evidence and solutions

This integrated approach of understanding the problem, applying our insights and designing the solution is known as ‘ideation’ and is fundamental in building strong relationships. As a result of this approach, our solutions provide maximum flexibility and durability as we are able to specifically engineer our solutions to ensure reliability.

In the last 18 months, we have trained over 700 people in our Engineering Advantage master classes and by the end of year, aim to have more than 900 people trained worldwide.

Our Key Account Managers (KAMs) are also essential as they build lasting relationships with our global key accounts and support the joint ideation approach with our engineers and customers.

Our global footprint is expanding in order to support customer demands in the emerging markets. We have established manufacturing facilities in USA, Germany, UK and Brazil and have developed newer facilities in Mexico, the Czech Republic and China to ensure we have the capability to support our customers worldwide.

We have a global technical reach including support services in over 75 countries and aftermarket requirements, ranging from engineering diagnosis services to replacement parts and equipment.
